Copyright Policy

The Journal of Bone and Soft Tissue Surgery (JBSS) recognizes the importance of protecting authors’ intellectual property while ensuring broad accessibility of published research. To this end, authors retain the copyright of their work upon publication in JBSS.

By submitting a manuscript to JBSS, authors agree to grant the journal a non-exclusive license to:

  • Publish, reproduce, and distribute the article in print and digital formats.

  • Identify JBSS as the original publisher of the work.

  • Deposit and archive the article in relevant repositories, indexing services, and digital preservation systems.

This arrangement ensures that authors maintain full ownership of their intellectual contributions while allowing the journal to disseminate their work widely in support of open-access principles. Authors are free to:

  • Reuse, distribute, and share their published article in personal repositories, institutional databases, and academic platforms.

  • Incorporate their work into future publications, books, or teaching materials, provided that the original publication in JBSS is properly acknowledged and cited.

Where applicable, authors may also choose to publish under a Creative Commons license (e.g., CC BY), which further clarifies the terms of reuse and distribution. Such licensing enhances global visibility and encourages responsible sharing of scientific knowledge.

Through this policy, JBSS ensures a balance between author rights, journal responsibilities, and open-access dissemination, enabling research to reach the widest possible audience while respecting academic ownership.
